Welcome to Docera. These terms govern your use of the Docera iOS app ("Docera", "the app"), operated by Ibrahim Abu Dbay ("we", "us", or "our"). By using Docera you agree to these terms.
By installing, opening, or using Docera, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
You must be at least 13 years old (or 16 if you are located in the European Union) to use Docera. If you are under the legal age of majority in your country, you confirm that a parent or legal guardian has agreed to these terms on your behalf.
Docera is intended for adults and older minors who can independently manage their documents. It is not designed for, marketed to, or intended for children under these age thresholds.
Docera does not require you to create a username or password. When you first open the app, a guest account is automatically created and linked to your device. This account tracks your trial and subscription state on our server but contains no personally identifying information unless you choose to enter your name.
If you connect a Google account to use Gmail features inside Docera, you do so via Google's standard OAuth 2.0 flow. We never see your Google password. You can disconnect at any time inside the app, and we will revoke your tokens.
You are responsible for the security of the device on which you use Docera, since most of your data is stored locally.
You agree NOT to use Docera to:
Docera offers a free trial period followed by an optional paid subscription. Subscriptions are managed by Apple via the App Store:
Cancelling your subscription will not delete your Docera account. To delete your account, see section 11.
Documents you scan, photos you import, and emails you send through Docera remain yours. We do not claim ownership of your content.
Most of your content stays on your device. Some content briefly passes through our servers in memory only — for example, when you send a document by Gmail, the recipient address and PDF file pass through our server on their way to Google's Gmail API. These items are not stored, logged, or retained by us.
Emails you send through Docera are sent from your own Gmail account using Google's Gmail API. Once sent, those emails are governed by Google's terms and the recipient's policies, not ours. We do not retain copies of the emails you send.
For full details on what data we handle and how, see our Privacy Policy.
The Docera app, brand, design, and code are owned by us and protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use Docera on devices you own or control, for personal or business use, subject to these terms.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or create derivative works of Docera or any part of it without our written permission.
Docera works with a small number of third-party services:
Your use of these services is also subject to their own terms and privacy policies:
We are not responsible for the practices or content of these third-party services.
Docera is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will meet your specific needs.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these terms or your use of Docera is limited to the greater of: (a) the amount you paid us for the app in the 12 months immediately preceding the claim, or (b) USD $100.
We will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
You can delete your Docera account and all associated data at any time, directly inside the app: Profile → Delete Account → type DELETE → confirm. This permanently removes your server-side data, clears local data on your device, and revokes any connected Gmail access.
We may suspend or terminate your access to Docera if you violate these terms or if we are required to do so by law. We will give reasonable notice where possible.
We may update these terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will change, and significant changes will be communicated inside the app where practical. Continued use of Docera after updates means you accept the new terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute will be resolved exclusively in the courts of Israel, except where local consumer protection laws give you the right to bring the claim in your home jurisdiction.
For questions about these terms:
These terms apply only to the Docera iOS app.
